William "Bill" L. Robinson, age 74, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1948 in Topmost, Kentucky, to the late John Green and Herma (Hall) Robinson. Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy. He was in combat in the Tet Offensive in Vietnam and was a past commander of VFW Willard Post 3430. In Bill's younger years he worked for Buurma Farms and retired from Tenneco Automotive. He had over 20 years as a locksmith hobbyist and he loved to fish and dance. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and was a huge fan of his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry (Harmony) Robinson whom he married on October 24, 1980; children, William "Billy" (Monica) Robinson of Willard, Polly (Mark) Cummings of Willard, Christy (Buddy) McCormack of New Haven; Carrie (Dan) Sallee of Willard; Jean-Claude (Jana) Smith of Willard, and Susan Thompson of Willard; 18 grandchildren, Brennan (Libby), Russell (Shelby), Harley (Joe), Jaime (Nick), Emiley, Isaac, Marshall, Lukas (Summer), Major, Keaton, Kaden, Kyerstan (Nick), Matthew (Sofia), Megan (Chuck), Morgan (Randy), Daniel, Josh and Blake (Natalie); 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Doug (Janie) Robinson of Ashland, Hansel D. (Debbie) Robinson of Shiloh, Roger D. (Evelyn) Robinson of Willard, Jerry Robinson of Plymouth, John Paul (Debbie) Robinson of Norwalk, Susie (Keith) Sanderson of Willard, Peggy Schiffer of Norwalk and Carma (David) Zacharias of Ashland; brother-in-law, Bob De Hoyos of Willard; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by siblings, Eric Randall Robinson, James Keith Robinson, Rebecca De Hoyos and Lawrence Edward Robinson; great granddaughter, Wren Annie Stumbo; and brother-in-law, Noel Harmony.
Visitation will be at City Church, 927 S. Main Street, Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue at City Church on Wednesday, March 28, 2023 at 10:00 AM until the time of his service at 11:00 with Pastor Mike Harroll officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Willard Athletic Boosters Club.
