Wendell Slone Sr., age 59, formerly of Plymouth and now living in Wellington, KY, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the St. Clair Regional Medical Center in Morehead, KY. He was born June 19, 1947 in Kite, KY to the late Tivous and Zalie Slone, and raised his family in Plymouth, OH and retired to Wellington, KY and Sebring, FL. He retired as vice-president at the Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Charleston, W.V. He was a member of the 101st Airborne, where he was a Sergeant Ranger, during Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. He loved to golf, hunt and most of all, spend time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his wife, Janice, whom he married June 19, 1981; 4 sons, Scott & Jennifer Slone of Norwalk, Wendell Cory & Amy Slone of Palm City, FL, Wendell Jr. ‘Mouchie’ & Erin Slone of Monroeville, OH and Brad Slone of Morehead, KY; 3 daughters, Kathy Roeder of Monroeville, OH, Sheila & Terry Branham of Shiloh and Kim & Bill Haddix of Jackson, KY; 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Curby Slone of Willard; 2 sisters, Arista Hobson of Wayne, MI and Patty Slone of Willard.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, Tivous and Zalie Slone and a daughter, Shona Moore.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-2 and 5-8 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, where the funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M., with Elders Roby Patton, Mike Slone and Bobby Patton officiating.
