Wanda E. Marquart, age 90, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Willard Healthcare Center in Willard, Ohio. She was born June 23, 1921 in Norwich Township to the late Ray and Isadora (Billiard) Fortney. Wanda graduated from Willard High School in 1939 and then attended Bowling Green State University. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington, where she was a part of the Chancel Guild, Lutheran Daughters and a Sunday School Teacher. She was also part of the Election Board and Farm Bureau. Wanda enjoyed her flowers, hummingbirds, garden, roses and most of all, her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard Marquart of New Washington; four children, Janet (Ron) Lasten of Powell, Roger (Juleen) Marquart of New Washington, Gene (Pam) Marquart of Willard, and Charlene (Bucky) Glorioso of Willard; six grandchildren, Emily (Don) Strube, Michele (Bill) Northcutt, Matt (Theresa) Seasly, Lisa (Alan) Pasqualini, Angie Marquart and Sheila Marquart; three step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marvel Jean Hendrickson.
Visitation will be Monday, November 28, 2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Jack Kocsis officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions to Homecare Matters in Galion or the donor’s choice. www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
