Virginia E. Reel, age 88, of Willard, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, March 12, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born September 3, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Roy H. and Thelma (Thornton) Schryer. She worked as a cook for the Willard High School for 25 years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Willard and a former member of the Eastern Stars. She loved to crochet, knit, cross stitch and she was known for her beautiful afghans.
She is survived by her 3 children, Michael Allen (Kathy) Reel of Auburn, IN, Barbara Anne (Javis) Mann of Norwalk and Peggy Jean (Dale) Humphrey of Shelby; 11 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 23 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, George (Gail) Schryer of Washington, N.C.; brother-in-law, Dick Chase of Willard; sisters-in-law, Myrtle Funk of Willard and Georgia Kereluik of Detroit, MI; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Reel Jr.; parents, Roy and Thelma Schryer; step-mother, Juanita Rickett Schryer; son, Steven L. Reel; grandson, Steven A. Reel; sister, Dorothy Chase.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church in Willard where her funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Theresa Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church or to Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.
