Vera Jean Ash, age 68, of Bloomville, Ohio passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 27, 1955, in Wooster, Ohio to the late Roy and Clara Jean (Beach) Boehm.
Vera was a 1973 graduate of Northmor High School. She then went on to work at General Electric in Bucyrus, for 30+ years. Vera was an active member of the Grace Community Church in Tiffin, Ohio. She was a part of the lady’s group and bible study. Vera was also active with the VFW in Crestline, Ohio and the Ohio Beekeepers Association.
Vera was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She could often be found watching their sporting and school events. Vera loved to be outdoors, she enjoyed bee keeping, hunting, fishing, boating and doing yard work. She also enjoyed to garden, watch the hummingbirds, and raising her chickens. She was a mentor and friend to all and best known by many as “mom.” Vera was very proud of her two sons that are veterans and was a very devoted American women.
She is survived by her children, Coy (Kristal) Ash of Tiro, Jacob (Shelly) Ash of New Washington; grandchildren, Cayla (Josh Dove) Riggs, Noah Ash, Cassidi Hyder, Jayden Ash, Aiden Loftis and Brooklyn Loftis; siblings, Carl Boehm, Earl Boehm, Reva (Gary) Coldwell and Zena (Joe) Bobarsky.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister-in-law Lis Boehm.
Friends and family are welcome to gather on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington. A memorial service will follow the calling hours, beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Pastors from Grace Community Church officiating. I went to pioneer joint vocational school with Vera for 2 years. She was so nice and always had a great smile. Prayers for her family. At least we know we will see her again.

We will miss Vera in our ladies Bible study. She was so passionate about Jesus and her family. I'm so glad to know she is with Jesus where she has no pain.

Tom and I will miss your wonderful smile and the time we got to spend with Vera she was a great friend. Tom and her spent many nights after work at UDF having ice cream until she was sure his sugar level was OK for him to drive home they always called to let me know. I met Vera almost 20 years ago. We kept in contact quite often and it was always a delight to have our chats and catch up on our kids and our grandkids. She was an awesome, kind and spiritual woman and I will miss her and our chats so much. Although, I may say that politics and windmills were banned from our conversations :). Vera, you were a warrior and you will be dearly missed. May you fly with the angels and watch over your loved ones and me .
