Vana Mae Bolen, age 81, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Arbors of Clyde Nursing Home in Clyde, Ohio surrounded by her family. She was born on May 25, 1930 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Coonie and Effie (Barnett) Risner. She retired from the former Pioneer Balloon in Willard.
Vana Mae enjoyed crocheting, walking, going to church and truly loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Russell (Janet) Lacy of Willard, Linda Gibson of Willard, Gloria Reed of Willard, Rickey (Karen) Bolen of Plymouth and Edgil (Sara) Bolen Jr. of Willard; 20 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; one brother, William (Florence) Risner and two sisters, Anna Jean (Chester) Holida and Janet (Junior) Staten.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Edgil Bolen; two sons, Larry and Harry Lacy; four grandchildren, Michelle Lacy, Stacey Bolen, Aaron Reed and Larry Lacy Jr.; two brothers, Loten and Michael Risner and three sisters, Helen Feltner, Riva Carmichael and Christina Risner.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard where the funeral service will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. When we were kids, she made it a point to make sure we had clothes on our backs. I am truly sorry for your loss…an angel went home.
I am sad to hear about Grandma’s passing. She will be missed. I cherish the memories I have of her. I will see her and my dad again in Heaven.
Nicholas, your grandmother will be sadly missed. Cherish all the memories you have of her. God needed another angel to be with Stacey. Even though her passing hurts remember she is in a heavenly home.
