Ulice Sherman Jr., age 81, resident of Detroit, Michigan passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023, at his home. He was born in Willard, Ohio on June 20, 1942, to the late Clementine (Taylor) Poole and Ulice Sherman Sr.

Following his service to our country in the United States Army, Ulice was employed as a technician with ATT. An activist, Ulice was a member of the NAACP and National Action Network. He was also a founder of African Town. Ulice was a very accomplished and respected man.

A true family man, Ulice was a loving a father and grandfather and loved to sing with his sister, Carolyn. He was also an animal lover.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Norma “Brandy” Gray (Brandon Williams) and Andrea (Eric) Ponzie; eight grandchildren, Tyreonn Gray, Nybrieonn Gray, Tyron Gray Jr., Nayonn Gray, Natyvionn Gray, Ian Robbins, Sierra Robbins and Darien Robbins; fifteen great grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Henry) Norton; brother, Arthur Duane (Arcine) Poole; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend, Juliette Lowe.

In addition to his parents, Ulice was preceded in death by his son, Keith Lewis; and siblings, Erma (Willie) Nesbitt, Cleo Patrick Sherman and Clementine Alexander.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. where his funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.
