Todd A. Atkins, 45, of 8413 Timber Lane, Lafayette, IN, died at his home, Tuesday-December 9, 2008 at 8:50am, surrounded by his loving family. He had battled colon cancer for the past 3 years. He was born August 14, 1963 in Willard, OH, to Richard & Sandra Wilkinson Atkins, who survive, and live in Willard, OH.
His marriage was to Roxanna Humm in Lafayette, IN, on October 12, 2000, and she survives. He graduated from Willard High School & Pioneer Joint Vocational School in 1981. He worked at Caterpillar in Lafayette for the past 21 years in storage control, and previously co-owned a custom painting business. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling, and custom painting motorcycles, autos, and other oddities. Todd was a Rare Breed. Very passionate about his family & friends, being spontaneous, and living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife, Roxanna Atkins of Lafayette, IN; step-Daughter, Misty & Kevin Tepool of West Lafayette, IN; parents, Richard & Sandra Atkins of Willard, OH; sister, Sally & Roger Durnwald of New Washington, OH; brothers Brent & Donna Atkins of Savannah, GA, Randy Atkins, companion Angel Warwick West of Lafayette, OH; paternal grandmother Wanda Atkins of Willard, OH; In laws Richard & Bonnie Hitzemann of Logansport, IN; grandchildren Justice, Cole & Jacob Tepool; nieces Brooke Shoup, Brittany & Brianna Durnwald, Stephanie, Mallory, & Sydney Atkins; 1 great nephew Hayden T. Allen Shoup.
He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Earl & Louise Wilkinson; paternal grandfather Charles Atkins; 1 uncle, 1 aunt, and his beloved Dog Harley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 14, 2008 from 2-4 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio. There will be a private burial at a later date.
