Thomas J. Hainer, age 84, resident of rural Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at his home. He was born on March 19, 1922 in Springfield Twp. in Richland County, Ohio to the late John A. and Edna M. (Scheier) Hainer. Mr. Hainer served in the US Army during WWII and in 1954 moved to Alaska where he lived until moving back to Ohio in 2004. While in Alaska he was a heavy equipment operator in the Usibelli Coal Mine in Healy. He held a private pilot’s license, owning his own plane and flighting fisherman and supplies.
He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Mary Hainer of Grand Rapids, MI; ten nieces and nephews, Roger Company of Plymouth, OH; Loren Company of Plymouth, OH; Ronald Company of Bolivar, OH; Marla Hoover of Perrysville, OH; Douglas Hainer of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; Bruce Hainer of Columbus, OH; Susan Hainer of Bellevue, OH; Judy Van Horn of Shelby, OH; Joel Hainer of Grand Rapids, MI; and Candace Strong of Lowell, MI.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hainer; and two sisters, Katherine Hainer and Marie Company.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Monday, June 19, 2006 form 1:00 to 2:00 PM where a time for sharing memories of Tom will be held at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhome.com
