Thelma Waddles, age 84, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation in Willard, Ohio. She was born on Sept. 6. 1936 in Floyd County, KY, to the late Malcom and Hester (Prater) Vanderpool. She had retired from Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard and had worked at Waddles True Value Hardware in Shelby. Thelma was proud to be a on the Plymouth Volunteer Fire Department as a Firefighter and EMT.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Linda Waddles of Plymouth and Randy and Pam Waddles of Shelby; grandchildren, Jason Waddles, Brooke (Andy) Miller, Erin (Casey) Keysor, Danielle Abrams, Rochelle (Brian) Trevarrow, Sarah Waddles, Amanda (AJ) Rock and Autumn Maggard; 14 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Waddles and Sue Waddles; numerous nieces and nephews; and a sister, Lucile and Ken Reffitt of Ashland, KY.

In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Akers; granddaughter, Alissa Maggard; sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Art Edgeson, significant other, John Ganzhorn and former spouse, Oscar Waddles.

A special thank you to the Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Staff and Southern Care Hospice for their caring and compassion while Thelma was in their care.

A graveside service for Thelma will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 1:00 PM in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth with Elder Glen Slone officiating. In lieu of flowers, please support your local Fire and EMS Departments. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

so very sorry to hear of Thelma's passing. I worked with both Thelma and Sharon at Pioneer sewing, and looked forward to seeing her at the Chicken BBQ's. Sympathy to all her family.

Ed I'm so sorry for your loss. Thelma was a wonderful woman! She was such a strong, smart, sweet lady whose memory I will cherish for rest of my life. I worked with Thelma at fire station. That women responded to every call every day!! She committed her life to the people of Plymouth, Ohio. I will miss you dearly Thelma. I love you!!
