Sterling C. Sexton, age 61, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on September 13, 1959 in Willard to Wanda "Liz" (Griffith) Sexton and the late Clovis Sexton.

Sterling served in the United States Marine Corps and was known for his support to members of AA. He enjoyed carpentry and his main passion in life was his music. He considered it his therapy and credited it with saving his life as well as the lives of many others. He was a big part of the Bluegrass community and played the bass and guitar. Sterling's love for his family was very evident, especially his grandchildren, and his sons are honored to have gained the same love of music as their dad.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Wanda "Liz" Sexton; 3 children, Crystal (Josh) Tackett, David "Bud" (Alisa) Sexton and Timothy (Jennifer) Sexton; 11 grandchildren, Shawn McCoy, Logan Tackett, Lunden Sexton, Genesis McCoy, Shavonne Tackett, Noah Tackett, Kaydence Norman, Logan Baugh, Liberty Tackett, Levi Sexton and Vivian Sexton; 1 great grandson, Carter Bowman; significant other, Rhonda Richards; 2 brothers, Clovis Ray (Pat) Sexton and Jay Sexton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clovis Sexton.

Family and friends may visit at the Secor Funeral Home on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Sterling's family asks that anyone wanting to make a memorial contribution to please support any alcohol or drug rehabilitation center.
