Solomon W. Tackett (‘Sol’), age 87, born on January 6, 1934 in Floyd County, Kentucky, was a wonderful man who is loved, missed and will always be cherished. He was a loving husband; father and Grandfather who loved to play golf, crack jokes and spend time with his family.

‘Sol’ passed away in his home, located in Plymouth, Ohio on December 7, 2021 surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his parents Noah and Adaline Tackett, Brothers Harry Tackett, David Tackett, sister Millie Laney and daughter in-law Nella Kimberlin. He is survived by his loving wife Mavis Tackett of 60 years, sons Tommy Kimberlin of Manchester, Kentucky, James (Paula) Kimberlin of the Villages, Florida and Melvin Kimberlin of Willard, Ohio, daughters Sandy Smith of Plymouth, Ohio, Tammy (Lee) Miller of Newnan, Georgia and Sabrina Miller of Woodville, Ohio, brothers Johnny Tackett, Thomas Tackett and Noah Jr Tackett, all of Kentucky, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. ‘Sol’ loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by many.

 
Calling hours will be held at Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, 4982 Henry RD Plymouth, Ohio 44865, on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM until the time of his service on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with a Church Service at 6:00 PM on Friday, December 10, 2021.  Burial will follow Saturday's service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.  Online condolences may be made to Sol’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

My condolences to aunt Mavis and the whole family. I wish I could make it up for the services but, I won't be able to. I've always had great respect for uncle Sol and he will be missed dearly.
