Sharon Louise (Bauer) Heisler, 45, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away on May 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family after fighting not one, but two heroic battles against breast cancer. She was a light and a witness to her faith in Jesus Christ and attended Cypress Church. Sharon never wanted people to see her struggle; instead she wanted her strength and positivity to shine. She lived every day with intention and grace, and would not want anyone to view her death as a defeat from this disease, but rather as a victory in living every day to its fullest with over-flowing kindness.

Sharon was born on April 15, 1976. Growing up on a grain and cattle farm in Willard, Ohio, she nurtured a love of animals and actively participated in both 4H and in her local FFA. A proud Class of 1994 graduate of Willard High School, Sharon obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in pre-veterinary medicine with a minor in accounting at the University of Findlay in 1998. In 2003, she completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) at THE Ohio State University. GO BUCKS! Dr. Sharon was the owner of Champion Pet Vet in Delaware and in Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Owning the clinic was not her job, it was her passion. She loved fostering and finding homes for animals from kittens to turtles. Every species and pet owner who encountered Dr. Sharon experienced her genuine, fun and caring heart.

"Weezie" married her high school sweetheart, Brad Heisler on September 9, 2000. They were blessed with 4 beautiful children: William "Will" (17); Eleanor "Ellie" (17); Andrew "Beefcake" (15); and Ainsley "Doodlebug" (8). Her matchless love was manifested in watching their 4H and athletic activities. She was their greatest cheerleader and always will be. In addition to being survived by her husband and children, she is also survived by her parents, Howard and Dolores Bauer; brother Steve and sister-in-love Michelle; nieces and nephews whom she adored like her own: Alex, Olivia, Madeline and Nicholas Bauer; a special aunt Claudette Snook; "sister"/cousin Amy Higgins and husband Andy; cousin David Snook, wife Christy and Delaney and Dillan; cousin Susie Nichols and husband Paul; and special family friend Casey Grabill along with many more family members. Equally important are the wonderful and supportive friends from her home town and her adopted community who survive her as well. The constant, out-pouring of love and care she felt was immeasurable to her and her family during this journey. #heislerstrong

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Richard Heisler, grandparents Claude and Pearl Bauer; and Dorsey and Ocena Enders.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 5th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Secor Funeral Home in Willard. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Willard Christian Alliance Church with Pastor Dale George of Cypress Church officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pink Ribbon Girls, 32 E Main St., Tipp City, OH 45371. Online condolences may be made to her family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

I was so surprised to hear that Dr Sharon had passed away! I haven’t been able to visit the clinic since before covid and was not aware of “round 2”, and of course she never mentioned it! I am a salesman who called on her, and she was always a bright spot in my day when I visited! My deepest condolences and prayers to her family and friends as she will be sorely missed by myself and all who knew her! RIP Dr Sharon!

There are so many things I could say about Sharon. She was a bright light in this world. I will forever cherish the memories of our junior high and high school years - the many sleepovers on the farm, getting ready for dances together, playing Willard Lady Flashes Basketball. I could go on and on. Her smile could light up a room. I am proud to say that my friend was a fighter until the end, and she always had a positive attitude no matter what was thrown her way. My last conversation with her was via Facebook Messenger about my dog eating a bunch of chocolate - kinda funny, but I knew she would know what to do. To her family: continued prayers for all of you in the days to come. You mom, wife and daughter was an amazing woman!

In loving memory of Sharon !! When my wife Shelley told me the news today not only was it complete & total shock but also great sadness. We only knew Sharon through the Vet clinic but she will always have a HUGE place in our heart because when we had our pup Ophelia she was a rescue and had contracted and illness that had almost taken her from us. After Urbana vet failed to make her better we found Sharon the next day. She made a special arrangement for us to bring her in that day and with 1 shot, 24 hrs later she had saved our baby. She was happy self again. It was completely amazing what she did and we still don't how she did it. We'll never forget Sharon & what she gave us !! RIH Sharon we will certainly miss you. I had always wanted for you to see her again and what she grew up to be !! Thank you so much !!
