Sandra "Sandy" Sword, age 63, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Mercy St. Vincent's in Toledo. She was born on August 8, 1956, in Knox, Indiana, to Harold Salyer and Iva Jean (Howard) Minix.
Sandy grew up in Kentucky and moved to Ohio in the 1980s. She had worked at R.R. Donnelley's for a number of years and recently had worked at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation in Willard. Her family was her world, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved very much.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Troy Sword and Ashley (Justin) Cooper; five grandchildren, Sommar Sword, Troy Sword, Ashton Sword, Emalee Sword and Westin Cooper; mother, Iva Jean Minix; and brother, Ronnie Salyer.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father and step mother, Harold and Emily Salyer.
Family and friends may visit on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
