Ronald J. LeSage, 67, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on June 7, 1954 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Verne E. and Clarice (Stevens) LeSage.
A 1972 Willard High School graduate, Ron went on to work at RR Donnelley for 5 years, as well as some other employment opportunities before opening his own machine shop. LeSage Machine Inc. opened in 1987 and has been owned and operated by Ron and his wife, Rita. He did jobs for many local businesses around Northeast Ohio. He never put a sign out by his shop or paid for advertising because his work always spoke for itself.
Ron’s passion in life was being a farmer and he was very meticulous in how he approached his work. It was something he took great pride in. He was never one to sit still and was always finding projects and tasks to work on. In the spare time he did have, you could find him riding his motorcycle with Rita or driving to visit his children and grandchildren, which is what he loved most. Known as Papa, tractor rides and going for walks are what his grandchildren will remember most about him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Rita (Phillips) LeSage; two daughters, Kara (Matt) Reynolds and Amber (Ted) Schlering; four grandchildren, Emma, Kayleigh and CJ Reynolds and Reagan Schlering; mother-in-law, Dolores Phillips; two brothers-in-law, William and Robert Phillips; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his brother, Donald LeSage; brother-in-law, Edward Phillips; and father-in-law, James Phillips.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ron’s funeral service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the funeral home at 4:30 p.m. with Sherry Stockmaster presiding. Truly sorry to hear this. Been friends and worked with him for many years at Donnelleys as well as rode many miles together on our motorcycles. ALWAYS a kind and friendly human being and was blessed to have known him.
