Robert L. Young, age 74, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at his home. He was born on April 17, 1947 in Bucyrus, Ohio to Budd L. and Wanda C. (Kessler) Young. Robert was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in New Washington, served in the Vietnam War in the US Army and retired from PPG in Crestline in 2006 after 41 years of dedicated service. He was a Free Mason for over 50 years and was a dedicated member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington where he was a deacon, served on the church council and was in the men’s choir. Robert was an avid history aficionado and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Sally (Price) Young, whom he married on May 15, 1971; children, Neil (Christin) Young of Knoxville, TN and Natalie (James) Frankart of Bowling Green, Ohio; grandchildren, Owen Young and Olivia Young, both of Knoxville, TN; sister, Patricia (John) Hauser of Galion, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Budd L. and Wanda C. (Kessler) Young.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 28, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington, Ohio from 1:00 PM until the time of his service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
