Robert “Bob” Yelensky, age 95, of Holiday Lakes, Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio.  He was born on February 19, 1928, in Vermilion, Ohio, to the late Steven and Helen (Kudela) Yelensky.  Bob was a 1946 graduate of Vermilion High School, proudly served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, and retired from Nordson in Amherst where he was a Tool and Die Maker.  In his spare time, he owned and operated an 18-acre vineyard, was a gardener, fisherman, and an active member of the Holiday Lakes Association.  Most of all, Bob enjoyed spending time with family.

Bob is survived by his children, Carole Madera of Dayton, Ohio; Jim (Sandy) Yelensky of Sandusky, Ohio; and Roberta McVay; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; younger brother, Dr. Donald Young of Lake Tahoe; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Carol S. (Thayer) Yelensky in 2021; three children, Michael Yelensky, Yvonne Yelensky and Janice Flowers; a grandson, Christopher Yelensky; and siblings, Steve Yelensky, Joseph Yelenskly, Charles Yelensky and Helen Washtak.

Visitation will be at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Fr. Ron Schock officiating.  Burial will be on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion, Ohio.  Online condolences may be made to Robert’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com
