Robert A. Hunter, 78, of Willard, Ohio went home with the Lord after a devastatingly quick battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on December 29, 2021 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. His family is sure he is dancing with Bettie and having a beer with lost friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Alexander and Norma Lee (Jones) Hunter; sister, Donna Dissell; beloved wife, Elizabeth Hunter; and their dog, Fancy. Also, waiting for Bob to come home was his son-in-law, Chris Passeno; and granddaughter, Christin Nicole Moore.

Bob is survived by his sister, Sharon (Carl) Rosenburg; brothers, Mike (Grace) Hunter, Tom (Carolyn) Hunter and Steven (Jeane) Hunter. He also leaves behind his daughters, Barbara Passeno and her sons, Alex and Max, Darlene (Chris) Robison and her children, Kevin, Darren and Stephanie, Jackie Ohms and her daughter, Alysha, Gwendolyn Hunter and her daughter, Cheyenne; along with the next generation of great grandkids.

Robert served a distinguished military career to come home to be a long-haul truck driver. It was on one of these trips that he met Elizabeth and married her on Valentine’s Day in 1988, taking on the role of raising three teenage girls and becoming their dad. Bob and Bettie continued to drive truck together and spent many happy years together on the road traveling together and spending their home time dancing at the Eagles Club and camping in their RV with their dog, Fancy. After retiring from Manfredi Motor Co., he stayed home to care for Bettie before she passed away.

By himself now, he became active in the Moose Lodge and looked forward to helping his family and friends and led a very social life.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Fellowship will be continued following the service at the Moose Lodge in Willard. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. in Graceland Memorial Gardens in Milford, Ohio alongside his parents and sister. My condolences to the family. My thanks to Bob for his service to our country. I got to meet Bob through real estate dealings when he lived in Attica, and then Willard. Such a nice man to speak with. Would wave or honk at him when he sat in his front yard chair. Rest In Peace, bud.
Rob and Becky Pfanner - Jan 1, 2022
Our hearts are hurt with Bob's passing. His obituary was spot on. We will miss him and his joyful personality. Due to health reasons, combined with the covid outbreak, we will not be able to attend the services. Please accept our prayers and condolences. In lieu of flowers, we will be making a donation to the Willard Moose Lodge in him name. Rest easy Bob, and tell Bettie we said hello.

We would like to send are deepest sympathy to the Hunter family. We have many fond memories of the famous lobster parties given by Bob and Bettie. We had great times at the Manfredi Christmas parties due to their fun personalities. Even though it has been along time, we will hold them both in our hearts forever.

I met Bob at the Willard Moose a few years ago. He was a good honest man and friend to anyone that he met. He was a good worker at our Moose Club. If something needed to be done, he was always ready to get it done. I will miss my friend. God bless him and his family. Mick O'Brien
