Robert A. "Bob" Langjahr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at his home on Friday, June 4, 2021, at the age of 79. He was born February 10, 1942 in Seneca County, Ohio to the late Eldon and Mary (Moore) Langjahr. He graduated from Attica High School and served in the Army National Guard. Bob was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church in Attica, the Car Coddlers Club, Attica Eagles, and the Attica American Legion, where he was the past Post Commander for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn (Wise) Langjahr, whom he married on April 18, 1964 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Willard. He is also survived by his children: Gregory Langjahr of Cleveland, Brenda (Gerry) Logsdon of Marysville, Gary “Butch” (Lisa) Langjahr of New Washington, and Andrea (Chris) Saylors of Attica; eight grandchildren: Nathan (Lindsay) Stine, Ashley (Joe) Poeppelman, Matthew (Danni) Logsdon, Brandon Langjahr, Marissa Logsdon, Hunter Saylors, Trenton Langjahr, and Aubrey Saylors; one great-grandson: Eli James Poeppelman; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Eldon and Mary (Moore) Langjahr. His sister Donna (Denzil) Clevinger of Crestline passed away hours after Bob on June 4, 2021.
Bob was a lifelong farmer and worked at PPG Industries in Crestline where he retired after 44 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, attending car shows, and being an active member of the American Legion. Bob’s best memories involved spending time with family and friends in addition to watching his grandchildrens’ athletic events and musical recitals throughout the years.
Bob’s life will be celebrated with a funeral mass on Saturday, June 12 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Church in Attica, Ohio with Fr. Nathan Bockrath officiating. Calling hours will be Friday, June 11 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio. Preceding the mass a short visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope. Burial will follow at the St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Attica, with military rites. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Attica Veterans Memorial.
