Rita Mae Mumea, age 83, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 23, 1940 in Chatfield, Ohio to the late Walden “Walt” and Thelma (Rockey) Vrendenburgh.

A Buckeye Central High School graduate, Rita married the love of her life, Ronald “Ron” Mumea in 1959. They moved to Plymouth to begin their lives together and start a beautiful family. Rita was a caregiver who loved being with her family and making sure they were taken care of.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; four children, Greg (Beth) Mumea, Kristi (Chris) Clabaugh, Karen (Ray) Reynolds and Sharon (Mark) Adams; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Bettie Vrendenburgh. She is also survived by the many foster children and their families she had the honor of caring for and raising over the years.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by a son, Danny Mumea; and brother, Larry Vrendenburgh.

A private family graveside service will take place at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial contributions in Rita’s memory can be made to LifePoint Church in Plymouth or Hospice of North Central Ohio. Online condolences can be left for her family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
