Richard L. Foran, age 82, of Willard, died Wednesday, August 4, 2021 after a short illness. He was born November 13, 1938 in Willard, son of the late Jerome (Jerry) J. Foran and Lenora L. (Erler) Foran. He lived most of his life in the Willard area, except for a short time in Springfield, Ohio.

Mr. Foran graduated from Willard High School and Bowling Green State University. He had taken graduate courses at the Ohio State University, University of Toledo, and Bowling Green State University. He was elected to and inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Honorary in Business Administration. He earned certification from both professional Materials Management organizations, C.P.M., the National Association of Purchasing Management, CPIM, and from the American Production and Inventory Control Society.

He was employed for 24 years in various assignments in the Divisional Materials Management activities of Delco Chassis/ New Departure-Hyatt, Division of General Motors Corporation, Sandusky, Ohio, retiring in 1992. Subsequently, he was employed in Richland, Sandusky, and Huron counties, retiring in 2001 from EPIC Technologies, Norwalk, Ohio as a Senior Buyer of electronic components.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Willard, and regularly attended the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, Marywood, Bellevue, Ohio. He was a life member of the Willard Elks and a 23-year member of the American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1967. He was a member of the Huron County Farm Bureau.

Mr. Foran is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (Scheid) Foran of Willard, to whom he was married 53 years; a brother, Larry J. Foran of Willard, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1961, his mother in 1988, and a sister, Joanne E. Foran in 2002.

At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral home calling hours. The family will be in attendance at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 10, at St. Francis Xavier Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Willard.
