Ray Scott Dawson, age 61, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, surrounded by his family at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born on February 9, 1962 to the late Lloyd and Lillian (Vance) Dawson. Ray was a heavy equipment operator for Dave McMillan Construction and enjoyed woodworking and deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Shari (Harris) Dawson whom he married on September 14, 1991; daughters, Brandi (Eric) Shepherd of Bellevue, Ohio and Aleta (Stephen) McCoy of Norwalk, Ohio; grandchildren, Kadin Shepherd, Hailey Shepherd, Lillianna McCoy, Noah McCoy and Wesley McCoy; 2 special friends, James Lawhorn and Gene White, both of Willard; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, James, Randy, Kenny and Robert Dawson; and a special aunt, Elsie Stockmaster.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
