Phillip A. Kehres, age 51, resident of New Washington, Ohio passed away at his home on Sunday, June 1, 2008. He was born on January 17, 1957 in Willard, Ohio and had been a life long New Washington resident. Phillip was a 1975 graduate of Buckeye Central High School and was employed with the former Kaple Lumber Company. He was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council # 1718. He enjoyed playing euchre, rummy, solitare and word search books. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle, attending high school sporting events and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving parents, Charles “Punk” and Jeannette (Huffman) Kehres of New Washington; six siblings and spouses, Charlene and Tim Mullins of Dayton; Joe and Laurie Kehres of Ontario; Dave and Jenny Kehres of Westerville; Pete and Nikki Kehres of Kalispell, MT; Matt Kehres of Palm Bay, FL; Mary and Brian Bevier of Norwalk; nine nieces and nephews, Dan (Leni) Mullins of Marysville; Erica (Kyle) Garner of Mansfield; Braden Kehres of Ontario; Heather, Christina and Michael Kehres of Westerville; Koda Kehres of Kalispell, MT; Paul Bogan of Palm Bay, FL; and Kayla Bevier of Norwalk; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Isadore and Eleanor Kehres; maternal grandparents, Dale and Doris Huffman; and a nephew, Jeff Mullins.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 1-3 and 6-8 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Father Robert Dendinger officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Bernard School Endowment Fund.
