Pamela Ann Houston, age 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 22, 2023 at her residence in Savannah, GA. She was born Pamela Ann White on March 4, 1944 in New Washington, Ohio to Clayton and Dorothy White. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy White (nee Straub) and Clayton White, and her siblings Kay Eicher and Edward White. She is survived by her brother, Alan White, her four children, Mark Houston, Stephanie Houston, Ed Houston and Michael Houston (Lisa), and her six grandchildren, Annabella, Finn, Isabella, Grant, Johan and Charlotte.
She is a 1962 graduate of Buckeye Central High School. She would marry Douglas Houston and bear their four children. Pamela would later divorce and raise her children as a single mother. She reveled in her children’s accomplishments. She was recognized as a rabidly vocal fan at their sporting events and would proudly boast about them to all who would listen. Her high expectations and support helped spur all four children to pursue higher education. Pamela would join her family’s business, first as the Manager of the White Furniture Store and later becoming a Vice President and shareholder of the C.E. White Co. Pamela played many roles at the C.E. White Co., including management of production, client relations and shipping logistics. Pamela helped the company thrive until assisting in its sale in 1994.
In retirement, she relocated to New Hampshire and enjoyed being close to nature and built a home with a view on Lake Winnipesaukee. She was a life-long lover of all animals. Along with always having at least one pet dog in the house, she had cats, horses and loved to watch her birds and squirrels later in life. She also became active in the protection of wildlife through her involvement in local conservation groups in New Hampshire. Pamela loved to travel when possible, including trips throughout Europe and was a voracious reader of all types of literature, especially history and historical novels.
In her later years, she resided in Savannah, GA with her son Ed Houston, spending as much time as possible doting on her six grandchildren and always raising the spirits of those around her. Her jovial humor and unconditional support will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Pamela requested no services and will be interred next to her parents at the St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio.

Pam's Family; I started 1st grade with Pam and enjoyed school with her until graduation. Our children then became classmates as the years happened. It was great talking to her by phone in the past couple years; never could limit it to an hour. Her laugh I could recognize anywhere as well as her jovial spirit. Hugs to all.

So sorry to hear of Pam’s passing. Glad to have been a part of the family back in the day. I was reminiscing of all the fun times spent with your family starting with collecting boxes from the Furniture store to build forts in our back yard.
