Norma Joan Roth, age 86, resident of New London, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at her daughter’s residence with her family by her side. She was born on January 14, 1937 in DeKalb, Indiana to the late Verr and Lorraine (Mortorff) McClish.
Following high school graduation, Joan went on to attend and graduate from Dayton Nursing School, obtaining her LPN. She worked over 30 years for Mercy Willard Hospital and then went on to work for Dr. Prack’s office until her retirement.
Love for her family and friends was her top priority. With her passion of cross stitch and natural giving tendencies, she gifted heirloom angels to her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and friends. Joan had a vibrant, charismatic, playful personality and thoroughly enjoyed life.
Joan will be forever remembered by her five children, Suzanne (Terry) Grosswiler, Gary Kelley, Laura (Andrew) Ward, Karen (Leroy) Parrott and Kevin (Annie) Kelley; step daughter, Anita (Brad) King; eight grandchildren, Nicolle (Roy) McKenzie, Jason (Liz) Weaver, Devin (Becka) Grosswiler, Courtney (Shane) Pecknyo, Kayla Ward, Haley (Cole) Reed, Taylor (Anthony) Enamorado and Brinttany McQuate; two step grandchildren, Justin (Chelsea) Phillips and Breanna King; seventeen great grandchildren; and two siblings, Arden (Norma) McClish and Mary (Ralph) Chambers.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, James Roth in 2019; step granddaughter, Cierra Wilt; four siblings, Lois Mills, Howard McClish, Margaret Bartow and John McClish; and the father of her children, Stanley Kelley.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Ricky Branham officiating. Burial will follow at Kansas Cemetery in Seneca County, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to Ripley Chapel Church or Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.
