Norma Ellen Mitchell Pittenger, age 93, resident at the Willows of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.  She was born on November 6, 1929 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Gloyd Forest Mitchell and Clara Luellen (Moore) Mitchell Young (step father, Bill Young).  Norma married Eldon David Pittenger in July of 1950 and he preceded her in death in September 2018.  She had worked at Lumbermans Insurance and Westinghouse (Mansfield Products).  After retirement, her and Eldon moved to Sun City, Arizona.  They moved back to Willard to be near family.

She had four sons, David Pittenger, deceased Dec. 1999; Timothy Pittenger, deceased in Sept 2021; Gary (Rose) Pittenger from Willard, and Richard Pittenger from Mansfield; three grandchildren, Cathy and Todd Hamons from Willard, Tammy and Brian Legg from Monroeville, and Ticy and Chris Walters from Upper Sandusky; nine great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Stacey Legg; Cathern, Morgan and Lauren Hamons; Tyler, Carley and Wesley Walters; and Tessa Soule; and three sisters, Beverly  Mitchell and Joy (James) Mitchell Wheaton, both who are deceased; and Carol (Don) Mitchel Pederson.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 11:00 until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Janet Whittenmyer officiating.  There will be a graveside service at a later date at Franklin Church Cemetery in Mansfield.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice or the Willows at Willard.  Online condolences may be made to Norma’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Rose so sorry for your loss. She was a great lady while I was at the Willows always a smile and looked dressed wonderfully. May she rest in peace.
