Norbert William Schloemer, of Willard, went to be with the Lord at his home on Sunday, January 24th, surrounded by his family. He was 85.
He was born September 14, 1930 in Cincinnati, OH to Norbert H. and Elizabeth (Grove) Schloemer. He entered the army in 1951 and served most of his duty in Fort Lewis Washington.
On September 6, 1952, he married Kathleen Mary Schaffer of Monroeville.
Norb was a yardmaster for the B&O, later CSX, retiring in 1986. His favorite place was his garden next to the house where he raised produce for the family and for sale at a stand by the road.
Norb’s legacy is a large family; his devoted wife of 63 years, Kathleen, daughters Ann Schloemer of Willard, Barb (Bob deceased) Stang of Monroeville, Mary (Don) Davis of Norwalk, Judy (Joe) Reichert of Bowling Green, sons Dan (Debbie) Schloemer of Willard, Paul (Melanie) Schloemer of Ashland, Steve (Mary) Schloemer of Willard, Don (Debbie) Schloemer of Willard, Tom (Niki) Schloemer of Cleveland, Vince (Judy) Schloemer of Willard and Jim (Linda) Schloemer of St. Marys, 35 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and sister-in-law Carole Schloemer of San Antonio, TX.
Norb was preceded in death by a son, Peter in 1966, his parents, and brother, Robert.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, OH.
