The stars shone a little brighter on Friday, February 28, 2025, as Michael Manacci, age 32, of Willard, Ohio, peacefully left this world to join the heavens he so loved to explore. Born on February 1, 1993, in Lorain, Ohio, Michael was the beloved son of Joseph and Teri (Halladay) Manacci, inheriting his father’s passion for science and astronomy. His life was a reflection of wonder—always questioning, always learning, and always sharing his knowledge with those lucky enough to be in his orbit.
Michael was more than just a thinker; he was a giver. Whether through his writing for Geek Devotions, his deep love of history, or his engaging discussions on science and faith, he had a unique ability to connect with people. He wasn’t just someone you talked to; he was someone who made you feel truly heard. His conversations weren’t just exchanges of words; they were moments of insight, laughter, and sometimes, the kind of debates that could stretch long into the night.
Michael’s kindness was as boundless as the universe he admired. His heart had room for everyone—friends, family, strangers who soon became friends. If you needed encouragement, he gave it. If you needed help, he was already there. He carried his faith not just in belief but in action, making the world a little gentler for those around him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Teri Manacci; his girlfriend, Katie Baker, who shared in his dreams and adventures; his grandparents, Gino and Eda Manacci; and a host of family and friends spread throughout the country, who will forever cherish his memory. He is now reunited with his father, Joseph Manacci, under the same vast sky they both loved so much.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Willard Church of God, 5441 Willard West Road, Willard, Ohio 44890. Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, is assisting his family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the Willard Church of God.
Michael’s life was a testament to the power of curiosity, kindness, and connection. Though he may have left this world, his influence remains—written in the stars, in the words he shared, and in the hearts of those who loved him.
