Mavis Wurm, age 93, resident of Northville, Michigan, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019, at the Brookdale Northville Assisted Senior Living in Northville, Michigan. She was born on January 20, 1926, in Bournemouth, England, to the late Arthur and Mable (Burt) Andrews.

Mavis enjoyed many things in life, a few of them being, gardening, listening to music, and being by the water, whether it was an ocean or a lake. She was an active member in every church her and her husband, Eugene, attended. She married the love of her life, after the war, on June 25, 1946 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bournemouth, England. Mavis loved getting the family together and preparing meals for them. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish her memory are her four loving daughters, Brenda L. Davis of Bowling Green, Ohio, Christine S. Aden of Lambertville, Michigan, Elizabeth J. (Kirk) of Northville, Michigan, and Susan J. VanLanen of Duluth, Georgia; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and family members still in England.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene L. Wurm; a grandson, Tommy Eugene Aden II; and a son-in-law, William VanLanen.

Family and friends may gather at St. Bernard Catholic Church on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM, where the funeral mass will take place at St. Bernard Catholic Church, at 10:30 AM, with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to the USO, to support our troops. Brenda, our deepest sympathies go out to you and your entire family. Your mother was truly a wonderful woman. I remember her well and how welcoming and kind she always was to me. You are blessed to have had her in your life for such a long time. May she rest in peace in the arms of the Lord, and may you all find comfort with each other during this difficult time. I'm so sorry that we could not be there for the mass, but will keep her close in our prayers today.
