Mary Jo (Ganzhorn) Burkett, age 87, resident of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Willows at Willard. She was born November 21, 1933 in Plymouth, Ohio to the late John and Helen (Donnenwirth) Ganzhorn.
Mary Jo graduated from Plymouth High School in 1951.
Mary Jo was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Plymouth. She was also a very proud member of the Plymouth Lion's Club for many years and the American Legion Auxiliary. She always enjoyed her Club 51 (graduating class) monthly get toghethers.
Mary Jo was an avid reader and an excellent tennis player who always liked to win! She also enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers, occasionally trying her luck in Las Vegas and other casinos and above all else enjoyed and loved her family very much.
A special thanks to her helpers over the last few years; Jessica, Jed & Jill, Georgia and Sheree.
Mary Jo is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara and David Egner of Plymouth, her two sons and three daughters-in-law, Pastors Greg and Sandy Burkett of Columbus, and David and Krista Burkett of Plymouth, and Nancy Burkett of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Melissa (Jay) Follett, Michelle (Justin) Dean, T.C. (Brittany) Burkett and Courtney Burkett; and seven great-grandchildren; Morgan and Mason Follett, Taylor and Brooke Dean, Cole and Brody and Aubrey Burkett.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Eldon G. Burkett; her son, William T. Burkett; grandson, Chad Burkett; sister Linda Hershiser; brothers, Norman Ganzhorn, John Ganzhorn and Carl Ganzhorn.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM and where her funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Blanche Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Plymouth Area Lions Club or the Diabetes Association.
