Mary Ellen Phillips, age 83, of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 peacefully at her home in Plymouth, OH. She was born October 9, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Ray Markley and Anna Marie (Hollyday) Markley. Mary was a 1954 graduate of Fremont Ross High School, married Clyde Anthony Phillips on June 12, 1954, and retired in 1999 from MTD Products. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society and a volunteer at Mercy Health, Willard for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, camping, and spending time with her family. Mary was the "Angel of the Family".

She is survived by her seven children, Ray (Juanita Lynch) Phillips of Columbia City, IN, Andrea (David) Viner of Ashland, Cynthia Lynch of Plymouth, Christopher (Sue King) Phillips of Plymouth, Elizabeth (Gregory) Starkey of North Fairfield, Marianne (David) Williamson of New Washington, David (Lisa King) Phillips of Plymouth; son-in-law, Louis Lynch of Shelby; 20 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Sylvia) Markley of Emmett, Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Phillips who died June 7, 1985 and a brother, James Markley in 1978.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, OH and one hour prior to her funeral mass (at St. Joseph Catholic Church) which will be on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:30am at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Plymouth with Fr. George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
