Margaret Ann McDowell, age 85 of Willard, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Willard, Ohio. She was born March 7, 1932 in Willard to the late Richard V. and Vera L. (Ritz) Conkle and had been a lifelong resident. Mrs. McDowell was a 1950 graduate and class salutatorian of Willard High School. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at the former Willard Dairy, a secretary at the former Pioneer Rubber and later the office manager at Continental Cablevision in Willard. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and had volunteered countless hours at the Willard softball field and enjoyed playing cards with high school friends for over 50 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bird watching, camping in the Port Clinton area, and watching Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams. Her fondest enjoyment was watching her sons and grandchildren play sports over the years.
She is survived by a daughter, Joellyn (George) Snyder Sr. of Willard; two sons, Greg (Donna) McDowell and Rick (Sharon) McDowell both of Willard; seven grandchildren, Kristen (Jim) Hall, Molly McDowell-Burns (Nick), Justin (Annie) McDowell, Morgan McDowell, Patricia Snyder, George Snyder Jr., and Pamela Cook; and five great grandchildren
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. McDowell; a sister, Janice Remmy; and a brother, William Conkle.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, where the funeral service will be Saturday at 4:00 P.M. with Rev. Janet Wittenmyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Centennial Scholarship or the Willard Memorial Library.
