Maggie Hicks, age 82, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Willard, Ohio after a short illness. She was born on May 30, 1932 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Raymond and Lilly (Miller) Ousley and had been a Willard resident since 1946. Mrs. Hicks retired in 1993 from the former Pioneer Rubber Company in Willard. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and sharing time with family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Christine “Chris” (William) Robertson of Shelby; and a son, Vernon “Vern” (Kathleen) Hicks of Wakeman; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary (Marvin) Hall of Willard; and Ethel Risner of Willard.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Herbert Hicks; and two brothers, Warren and Curtis Ousley.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Staurday at the Secor Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M with Elder Phil Beverly officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. I meet Maggie in 1970 when I started work at Pioneer Rubber.I went to school with her son Vernon.I also knew Christine for years.I would always see Maggie and Hubert at all the garage sales..always said Hi and ask about my mom and dad..they were both the best people I ever have know.The are finally together again..going to miss you both so much…I love you guys!!!!!
