Lou Vern Ousley, 72, of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed away and went to live in her own home, with her God, on Sunday, June 23, 2019. She was born in Hippo, Kentucky on November 18, 1946 to the late John and Margaret (Hall) Ousley.

Full of life and laughter, Sissy was known to be ornery and a jokester. She loved her family very much but her main love and priority in life was her God. A member of Fredericktown Freewill Baptist Church, she looked forward to the day of seeing her God as well as her parents.

Sissy is survived by her sister, Wanda "Boo Boo" (Dennis) Myers; brother, Sherman "A Jim" (Brenda) Ousley; step sister, Judy (Keith) Tschanen; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Johnny and Elizabeth Ousley.

Sissy's family would like to extend a special thank you to Donna and Delmas Boggs for the loving care they have shown through the years to their sister.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Aaron Boggs will officiate her service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Fredericktown Freewill Baptist Church. Tim and I had just went and saw Lou Vern the day before she passed away. Im so glad we got to spend time with her. She was an amazing person being unable to walk all of her life she was always so happy and had that warm special smile on her face she never complained about anything and was always satisfied. Her praises in church were so beautiful to the Lord it was a blessing just hearing her it overwhelmed you. She was a very special person God made an angel when he made Sissy and her goal was to make heaven her home and her favorite song in churc was Ill Fly Away and early Sunday morning that's just what she did. At last she is in her perfect home she had been talking about. Now she is free to walk those streets paved with gold and in her eternal home. She will be so missed. Sending many prayers to her family for much peace and comfort. Sissy your free at last fly high sweetheart we all love you til we meet again one day soon

I am sorry to hear of our loss of Lou. She was in my crew at NHI in Mt. Vernon. Lou enjoyed working and going on outings. She always had a smile on her face and lit up the room when she came in. She was always concerned for everyone else. She will and is truly missed. She was a joy to have in my crew.

I am sorry for your loss with the passing of Lou Vern. I was blessed in having been able to know Lou Vern and work with her for over three years. We liked to joke with each other and she was always so thankful for the things I could do for her. Will continue to pray for your family.
