Lois J. Nedolast, age 76, formerly of Shreve, Ohio, and New Washington, Ohio, passed away March 30, 2023, in Millersburg, Ohio, after a period of declining health.

Lois J. Nedolast, was born, September 20, 1946, in Wooster, Ohio, to Ellenora (Robinson) Smith and Dean Leeper Smith. She was raised just south of Shreve, Ohio, in Holmes County, as one of seven children, with siblings Marvin Smith, Neil Smith, Blair Smith, Ellen Smith, Dale Smith, and Allen Smith.

She attended West Holmes school district and graduated in 1966. She worked in Ashland, Ohio, for the company historically known as Faultless Rubber and later as Abbot Industries and retired after 3 decades of service. Prior to retirement, she met Gerald Nedolast through church activities, and they were wed on July 13, 1990. He loved her very much and built her a home in New Washington, Ohio, where they lived until he died in 1995. Although they never had children, Lois had Shih Tzus that she loved like children and who always accompanied her.

Lois loved crafts, spending many hours hooking rugs with her mother. She also liked to bowl and hike in Hocking Hills, completing the Hocking Hill winter hike several times. She frequently traveled and visited her brother, Allen, in Alaska 3 times. She loved time with family and friends. You could always count on her at family events, reunions, and school get-togethers.

A faithful church goer, she frequently attended Bible studies. She made many friends among the staff at Majora Lane and loved word searches, putting together puzzles and playing bingo. She is loved and survived by her siblings, Marvin, Neil, Blair, Ellen, Dale, and will be particularly missed by sisters-in-law, Emily Smith and Sandy Smith, and cousins, Phyllis Austin, and Barbara Beaverson. Her brother, Allen Smith, preceded her in death.

The family extends their gratitude for the care provided by the staff at Majora Lane, where Lois was very happy.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Ripley Church of Christ in Big Prairie, Ohio. Burial will be held privately at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Secor Funeral Home in New Washington is assisting her family with arrangements.
