Lillian M. McDougal, age 97, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family. One of 13 children born to the late Fred and Rosa (Feichtner) Strohm, Lillian was born on January 7, 1925 in New Washington, Ohio.
A graduate of New Washington High School, Lillian went on to marry the love of her life, Wayne K. McDougal and they were married for 57 years until his passing in 1996. She was a devoted housewife to Wayne as he farmed and enjoyed helping milk a cow when needed. Lillian was known for her cooking and baking; always canning goods from her garden, baking homemade pretzels with her sisters and the special cookies she would make with her grandchildren. Her home is where everyone wanted to gather including her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Plymouth where she loved to donate her pies to the annual ice cream festival.
Lillian is survived by 2 children, Warren McDougal and Kathy (Michael) Lowery; 11 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Pete Strohm and Lulu Gearhart; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Roy Brown; daughter-in-law, Carol McDougal; 2 great-great grandsons, Tyson and Lucas; and 10 siblings.
In honoring Lillian’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
