Leslie H. Artz, age 76, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Mercy Willard Hospital. He was born on November 12, 1945 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Herbert and Elsie (Mellick) Artz. A 1964 graduate of Buckeye Central High School, Les went on to become a Conductor with CSX for 44 years. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Masonic Lodge.
 
Les was an avid golfer who was blessed to achieve a hole-in-one. He also enjoyed woodworking, archery and fishing.
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Tschuor) Artz, who he married on May 23, 1983; three sons, Jeremy (Lynn) Artz, Jason (Karyn) Artz and James (Tammy) Artz; four grandchildren, Alison, Jakob and Ayren Artz and Bradley Artz; one step grandchild, Brandon (Jessica) Shaw; four siblings, Charlene Betts, Elsie Ann Wechter, Sandy (Don) Neumann and Larry Artz; brother-in-law, John Kaple; several nieces and nephews; and numerous extended family members.
 
In addition to his parents, Les was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lesley Artz; twin sister, Linda Kaple; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Betts and Louie Wechter; and one sister-in-law, Bonnie Artz.
 
A funeral service for Les will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth.
