Kenneth W. Strohm, age 96, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Village at Westerville. He was born July 1, 1922, in New Washington, Ohio, to the late Fred and Rosa (Feichtner) Strohm. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Washington. Kenneth was also a life member of the New Washington American Legion, Post 405, the DAV and the VFW. He was an Army Veteran in WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received a Purple Heart. He farmed and retired from S.J. Kibler and Sons. He was also a Sunday School Superintendent for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Doris M. (Shealy) Strohm, whom he married November 1, 1943; son, Dennis (Gail) Strohm of Westerville; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Strohm, Dana Strohm, Lisa Snyder and Kelly Snyder; 7 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Terry (Janet) Snyder of Galion; 2 sisters, Lulu Gearhart of Crestline and Lillian McDougal of Plymouth; a brother, Forest Strohm of Tiro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Linda Snyder and Juleen Strohm; a sister, Ethel Reed and 6 brothers, Marvin, George, Orlo, Welden, Edgar and Lauren.
A graveside service will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio on Friday, February 15, 2019, at 2:00 PM with Gene Luidhardt, SAM officiating. Following the service, there will be a reception held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Washington. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
