June G. Huffman, age 101, of Willard, Ohio passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, February 18, 2022. She was born on March 1, 1920 in Marion, Ohio to the late Clifford and Edith (Bilger) Houk.
One of ten children, June entered the work force at a very early age. Most notably, she was a model and worked retail for Higbee and Sterling and Linder. June married her late husband, Wayne “Spider” at the young age of 19 and they moved numerous times with his work and military duties. During his deployment, she attended and received certification from the Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology. When Wayne returned from the service, she opened June’s Beauty Shop and successfully operated the shop for 30 years until turning it over to her daughter, Joyce. June retired to Ruskin, Florida where she was active in the Calvary Lutheran Church as a Sunday School teacher. While in Ohio, June was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Family was a main priority to June; whether she was a caregiver for a family member or attending the yearly Houk Thanksgiving. Everyone enjoyed her cooking and baking and she was known for her crocheted Afghans and bedspreads.
June is survived by her daughter, Joyce Hadamuscin; grandchildren and their spouses, Larry and Shannon Hadamuscin and Heather and Rob Green; four great grandchildren, Austin and Alexis Hadamuscin and Sydney and Lauryn Green; sister, Wilma (Jim) Little; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Houk Watkins and Marilyn Houk; brother-in-law, Harold Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special pets, Teddy and Hobo.
In addition to her parents, June was proceeded in death by her husband, Wayne “Spider” Huffman, who passed away on June 24, 2007; son-in-law, Larry Hadamuscin; and siblings, Art Houk, Ula Feightner, Harold Houk, Richard Houk, Clarence Houk, Margorie Brooks, Clifford “Jack” Houk and Paul Houk.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. June’s funeral service will held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard with Pastor Janet Wittenmyer officiating. Burial will follow at Attica Venice Cemetery in Attica, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio.
