Joyce Wicker, 79, of Willard, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk. She was born on March 14, 1939 in Garrett, Kentucky to the late Dave and Mauda Martha (Adkins) Slone.
Joyce retired after 18 years from Peppridge Farm. She attended Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and crafts. She loved life and going to church when she was able.
She is survived by her children, Andrea (Timothy) Oney of North Fairfield, Sharon Baugh of Willard, Renee (Eric) Barnett of Willard, Vernon (Karen) Wicker of Willard, Matthew (Amy) Wicker of Indiana and Stephen Wicker (fiancé, Ann Meyn) of Monroeville; 21 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one on the way; her furbaby, Odie; sisters, Lois Ann Caudill of Willard, Barbara Vanderpool of Willard and Mary (Johnny) Dutton of Willard; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Coley Wicker; son-in-law, Glenn Baugh; great grandson, Keaton Ward; sister, Rose Thornsberry; and brothers, Johnny and Timothy Thornsberry.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. An additional hour of visitation will be held at the Freewill Baptist Church, 670 Keefer St., on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Parsons officiating the service. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven. Memorial contributions can be made to Freewill Baptist Church.
