Joy Marianna (Nelson) Stoller, 73, of Willard, Ohio was called home by our Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland, Ohio.
She was born May 28, 1935 in Bessemer Township Harding Location, Michigan to the late George & Elaine (Keto) Nelson. After graduating from Bessemer High School, Joy earned her teletype certification in Minneapolis. She then accepted a supervisory position with the B&O railroad in Chicago, Illinois.
Joy married Warren A. Stoller on June 4, 1955 in Chicago, IL. She has lived in Willard since 1961, where she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She served as a Deaconess, sang in the choir, quilted with Lend-A-Hand group, and participated in many women’s Bible circles. Joy was a Red Cross volunteer, a member of the American Legion Auxilary, and worked as an Election Day helper.
Joy was employed by the Willard City Schools’ food services. She then worked for 14 years as office manager for her son, Dr. Jeff Stoller’s dental office in Plymouth, OH. She was a very loving and gracious lady, who loved to travel, garden, sew, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Steven (Nora) of Rossford, OH, Jeffery (Teresa) of Willard, OH, W. Michael (Angela) of Plymouth, OH, Timothy (Jill) of Plano, TX, and Cynthia (Jim) Frye of Galion, OH; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay Stoller, Stefanie Stoller, Monica Stoller, Zachary Stoller, Eric Frye, Heather Stoller, Tara Stoller, Lauren Stoller, Anna Frye, Jonathan Stoller, and Eleanor Frye; her sister, Bea Nickerson of Huntington Beach, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Louise (Rolland) Porter of Grover Hill, OH; brother-in-law, John (Marlene) Stoller of Everett, WA; numerous nieces and nephews; and very special friend and companion, Ken Osborn of North Fairfield, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren A. Stoller, November 6, 1981, her parents, George & Elaine (Keto) Nelson, and grandson, Matthew Stoller.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm -8:00 pm at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, OH. The funeral service will be Monday, October 27, 2008 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard, with Rev. Brian Peltomaa officiating. Burial will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 Myrtle Ave., Willard, OH 44890 or the Hospice of North Central Ohio. Cindy, I don’t know if you remember me from school but I am one of the Stephens twins. I held in alot of anger towards you in school. But life goes on and I am sorry for your loss. What’s in the past is in the past. I just lost my father two months ago. This has changed my life forever. I can’t take back all the pain I caused nor can I change things from long ago. I hope you will except my condolences for your mother.

Hi Steve,Jeff and Mikey. Remember me from the East Side School? I was in Steve’s class. I’m so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. My memory of your mom is her being our room mother and helping with the class parties. I also remember how proud you boys were when after having all boys she finally had a girl! I took care of Joy for a short period through medcare professional. I meet some of the family that I heard so much about. she was a loving and caring person. she thought the world of her kids and grandkids. sorry to hear about the loss.

I was able to know Joy from helping her with our home care services. We had many conversations in our visits, and it was very clear that she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very proud to show pictures of her family and the quilt that she was working on for Lend A Hand. Ken, you are a wonderful person, and I am sure that Joy loved you til the end. Sending condolences and prayers at the loss of your mother and grandmother. I had the priviledge of knowing Joy for years when I lived in Willard. Her and I use to bowl together and I know what a wonderful person she was.
