Joseph W Lucius, 76, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at the Willard Healthcare Center. He was born on August 2, 1934 in New Washington, Ohio to the late George and Mary (Durnwald) Lucius. Joe was a mechanic for most of his life and enjoyed watching tractor pulls and Nascar races. He was an officer of Ohio Council of Fraternal, Veteran and Service Organizations, serving as State President from 2002 to 2003. He was also a member of the Willard Eagles where he held office positions for many years.
Joe is survived by his children, Daniel Lucius, Marilyn Felter, Duane Lucius, Nancy Kluding, Gregory Lucius, Sharon Fike and Larry Lucius; 19 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; five brothers, George, Herbert, Robert, Norman and Kenneth Lucius; two sisters, Joan Wise and Doris Williams and special friend, Joan Swander.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Ed Lucius.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio from 5:00 to 8:00 PM where the funeral service will be on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Please accept our sincere condolences for the loss of your very nice father.. We knew Joe from being officers at the Willard Eagles Club.We didnt know he had passed away untill someone told us … We are so sorry we missed his funeral.. He was a good man and a good friend.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him ..
We knew Joe from being members of the Eagles. We met him by going to District meetings and Zone meetings. We have many memories of the fun times we would have there. He was such a nice guy. He will be missed by many.

I was so sorry to read about Joe – I got to know him thru working with him at the Pamida store. He was always nice to me and would run into him occasionally at the post office and have a quick chat. Please know that I will keep you in my prayers.
