On November 18, 2011, John Mann passed away from a long illness. He was born on February 12, 1929 in Bloomington, Kentucky to the late George and Sadie (Helton) Mann of Kentucky. He was the seventh child of twelve.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Sylvia Issac of Ohio; Lottie Lyins of Kentucky; Easter Cook of Ohio, May McCarthy of Ohio and Fannie Combs of Ohio; and one brother, Pearl Mann of Kentucky. Also, a granddaughter, Amber Mann of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell L. (Wright) Mann of Willard; and his children, Judy (Tim) Newport of Willard; Javis (Barb) Mann of Norwalk; Janet (John) Fyffe of Woodville, Ohio; and Joyce (Brian) Newport of Willard. He is also survived by four sisters, Hazel Helton of Kentucky; Ronnie Jenkins of Kentucky; Clara Liltheral of Kentucky; and Ruie Howard of Kentucky; and one brother, Green Mann of Kentucky; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Mann came to Ohio in 1948 and retired from Norfolk and Western Railroad in 1991. He was a member of the Willard United Baptist Church. His hobbies where training and hunting with beagles and working on small engines. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M., with Reverend Danny Hamilton officiating. Javis and Barb, so sorry to hear of Mr. Mann’s passing. Javis, I know this is a very hard time for you but remember all the good times that you and your family shared with your father. Barb and I both know the pain it is of losing a parent. Our thoughts and prayers are going out to you and your family.
