Joanne Kay Schaaf, age 72, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Pristine Senior Living in Willard. She was born on March 19, 1946 in Willard, Ohio to the late Delford H. and Helen M. (Bogner) Ellis and had been a lifelong resident. She was retired from R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Willard and a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Joanne was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Donnelley's Club and card club. She enjoyed bowling, shopping, eating out and most of all spending time with family, friends and loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Dalton K. Schaaf; two sons John Ellis (April Shoup) of Attica, and Eric A Ellis of Willard; a step daughter, Terri (Graham) Riley of New Smyrna Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Miranda Ellis, J.T. Ellis, Eric H. Ellis, Caroline (Austin) Brubaker, Madelynn Ellis, and Sheena Marie May; four great grandchildren, Michael Alexander Ellis, Chloe Rayne Beverly, Leon Riley Waymire, and Logan Shaun Waymire; two brothers, Mike Ellis of Willard, and Dick (Janice) Ellis of Willard, a sister, Janet (Steve) Predieri of Willard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Connie Newman.
Visitation will be held at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Monday, May 7, 2018 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Catholic Ladies of Columbia or the Kidney Foundation. She was one of my dearest and oldest friend who I have so many wonderful and cherished memories. I know that she is in Heaven with her loved ones and also OUR DEAR LORD who was welcoming her home, saying "Come my faithful servant I have a very special place for you" we will all see her again in her glory and I know she is dancing and singing and rejoicing.
