Janet C. Ramey, age 75, of New Washington, Ohio passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at Ohio State Richard Ross Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born on October 11, 1946 in Orr, Preston County, WV to the late Kenneth D. and Ethel G. (Metheny) Frantz and lived the majority of her life in the New Washington area.
Jan had worked in the offices of Buckeye Central High School and later at Transco Railway Products. She also owned and operated Boudreaux Pet Grooming before retiring. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed creating special quilts for family and friends. Her greatest joy was time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ralph D. Ramey, whom she married August 7, 1965; her children, Ryan Scott (Julie) Ramey of New Washington, Melissa Jo (William) Burkholder of Shelby, OH and Jeffrey David (Vanessa) Ramey of Stafford, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher and Joshua Burkholder and Chelsea and Nicholas Ramey.
Also surviving are sisters, Barb Blanton, Wilma Jo (James) Friend and Marlene (Ron) Remagen; brothers, Harold (Pam) Frantz and Tom (Cheryl) Frantz; sisters-in-law, Ollia Snipes and Betty (Keith) Laughbaum; many nieces, nephews and cousins and two aunts, Zelmodine Casteel and Eloine Metheny.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers and sisters-in-law, C. Kenneth and Della Hahn, Jerry (Joe) Snipes, Tillman Blanton and Wanda Frantz; one niece, Cynthia Snipes and one nephew, Nole Remagen.
In accordance with Jan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services at this time. There will be a celebration of Jan’s life for friends and family at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 3590 St. Rt. 98, Bucyrus, Ohio, 44820.
