James Stephens, age 91, resident of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 5, 1928, in Hippo, Kentucky, to the late Will and Rebecca (Shepherd) Stephens.
James had worked on the B+O Railroad, where he retired in 1990, after working for 37 years. He proudly served his country in the Army and Airforce.
James is survived by his son, Rodney (Deborah) Stephens; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Collins) Stephens; brothers and a sister; two daughters; and a son.
Family and friends may gather at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 4, 2019, from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at the Secor Funeral Home, with Pastor Fred Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven.
