My heart goes out to you all. Back when I was in junior high, Jim and Connie hosted CCD classes in their home. Since I lived a half a block away, that was where I would go. It was during that time that Cindy died. I will never forget their courage and grace as they shared their grief and experience with us kids. It broke my heart and made me greatly admire their faith and courage. They were a great example of how to live life regardless of what life situation you may be handed. Live life as fully as he did and you won't miss out on much.

Reminiscing about Uncle Jim makes us smile - something tells me that’s exactly how he would want it. Despite sometimes going years between our communication with each other, you couldn’t go longer than 30 seconds into that first conversation before he would find a way to unknowingly work in a joke or two or seven. He was full of life, my favorite Uncle, and is deeply missed. Our love goes out to Aunt Connie and the rest of the family - looking forward to catching up with you all this summer.
Larry & Barbara Blankenship - Feb 7, 2021

Sincerest condolences from an old contemporary of Jim and Connie
Charlene Richards - Feb 6, 2021
My first memory of Jim was when Connie brought him to meet Dad (Charles Aaron "Bus" Richards) and Grandma (Lizzie Richards) and Mom (Eloise) and Cecealia and me. We all overwhelmingly approved of Connie's choice for a husband!!! I always thought Connie was very beautiful and when Jim walked in the door (I was around 11) I thought he was the most handsome man in the world! He was charming and his smile lit up his entire face. Jim and Connie had a beautiful wedding and over the years a beautiful family. My last memory of Jim was from many years ago as he was riding on a mower taking care of the high school lawn. I called his name and he looked over and gave me a wave and smile. Reading all the condolences shows the love Jim created as a science teacher who touched countless lives and as a beloved family man and a good friend to so many. God Bless Jim and his family and friends at this sad time.

My heart goes out to you, Connie. Chris, Chip, Caryn and Carrie have had the joy of growing up with a wonderful Dad. Susan told me you were all able to be with Jim and say good-bye. So hard to do but a gift nonetheless. Your memories are so rich. His contagious smile and wit never left him. I'm thinking the Lord must have deliberated on taking him from you. He was truly His servant, he loved everyone, as I have read in the condolences. He leaves you all with a rich legacy. Now he is smiling at Cindy, and his love continues. Keeping you all in my prayers. Cecealia

We were saddened to hear of Jim's passing. What a great man Jim was! He touched so many people in his lifetime with his smile, his wit and his amazing love for everyone. I will remember him saying I knew that was you back behind me singing Mary at church. He just had a way of making you feel special. I know that GOD was smiling and holding out HIS ARMS and saying, "Come MY FAITHFUL SERVANT I have a very special place for YOU." Keep all your treasured memories close and Jim will never be far away.
