James C. Elmlinger, age 70, of Willard, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at his home. He was born July 2, 1942 in Norwalk, Ohio to Charles and Mildred Elmlinger. He was a former manager for several softball teams and was an avid duck hunter and card player. He formerly worked at R.R. Donnelley’s in Willard for 17 years before becoming a life insurance agent for New York Life Insurance Co, for 35 years and where he became a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table. He was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Margery A. (Hafner) Elmlinger, whom he married Sept. 7, 1963; daughter, Jessica M. Elmlinger of Willard; Mother, Mildred (Morman) Elmlinger of Willard; 3 brothers, Donald (Judy) Elmlinger of Glasgow, KY, Dave (Pam) Elmlinger of Milan and Mark (Berti) Elmlinger of Attica; 2 sisters, Pat (Cliff) Martin of Willard and Sue (Steve) Woeste of Vandalia, Ohio; brother-in-law, David Hafner of Attica; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Elmlinger; brother, Stephen Elmlinger and sister Joanne Hafner.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. The funeral mass will be Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church in Bellevue with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be at the St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery in Bismark, Ohio. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.
