We are sad to announce the passing of Jackie Hicks, age 73, of Willard, Ohio.
Jackie was born in Willard, Ohio on December 23, 1949 and passed on November 14, 2023.
Jackie passed after a long illness with COPD. Jack was employed by Norfolk & Southern Railroad where he retired from.
Jackie was a U.S. Marine and proudly served in the Vietnam War.
Jackie was well known in the community for his giving ways. He was also a volunteer at a local food bank for years.
Jackie is survived by his wife, Juel (Holida) Hicks; daughter, Crystal Hicks; son, Paul Hicks; grandchildren, Alexis Rettig, Ashely Schimpff, a special grandson whom he thought of as a son, Montanna Hicks, Marcus Hicks and Daniel Hicks; and five great grandchildren, Silas, Aria, Alanna, Ben and Nolan, all of Willard.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Susie (Wright) Hicks; a daughter-in-law, Regina (Rowe) Hicks; brothers, Willis, Robert, Carl, Curt, Paul, Glenn, Ellis, Eugene; sisters, Nancy, Rita, Ruth and Ruby; and his in-laws, Junior and Lucy (Barnette) Holida.

I can't remember the exact circumstance, but I happened to be walking near the intersection of 99 and 162 several years back when Jackie stopped in his pickup and said hop in buddy and gave me a ride into town, he went out of his way to do this kind thing. This man was a very kind soul with character and I am very very sorry for the loss
