Ida Ritchie, age 85, resident of rural Plymouth passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at MedCentral Shelby Hospital. She was born December 14, 1925 in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Kenny and Nancy (Stacy) Carpenter and had resided in Shelby moving to Plymouth in 1967. Mrs. Ritchie was a 1946 graduate of Breathitt High School in Jackson, Kentucky. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reading.
She is survivied by her husband, Roy Ritchie whom she wed January 22, 1946; four sons, Kenneth (Paula) Ritchie of Shelby; Roger “Buck” (Linda) Ritchie of Shelby; Frank (Wendie) Ritchie of Mansfield; and Kevin Ritchie of Mansfield; one daughter, Nancy Burkett of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; five sisters, Dovie Whitacker of North Liberty, KY; Sarah Fensch of Mansfield; Sue Yosick of Shelby; Faye Shepherd of Jackson, KY; Doshia Fugate of Campton, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bill Burkett in 2005; four brothers and two infant sisters.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM where the funeral will be at 1:00 PM with Pastor Doug Tackett officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial contribuitons may be made to the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, Ohio.
